What I wish I could have told myself when I first received Lilah’s diagnosis [Achondroplasia, a type of Dwarfism] and my mind flashed-forward to certain days in her life that I became worried about (such as the first day of kindergarten— Would others tease her? Would she make friends?)… I would have smiled and said, “I know it is natural for your mind to go there. But the thing that you are missing when you are looking at these events in the far future… is life experience. You are not taking into consideration all of the moments that collectively have prepared you for the next and the next one after that. She will be ready. She will soar.”

Both kids had a great first day. 🤗 Feeling extra thankful for our principal, teachers, families at our school and our community today. It really does take a village.
