Kensley was born without eyes, a rare genetic condition called anophthalmia.
I found out about it the day after she was born. We couldn’t get her eyes open and didn’t want to hurt her, so we took her over to the Children’s hospital. I was heartbroken. In shock. I felt as if I was dreaming; because I had never heard of someone not having any eyes. I felt like I couldn’t do it, it was too much for me.
But now I have NONE of those emotions . I’m ready for the challenge.I look at my baby like she’s no different than any other baby. I’m stronger because of it
