My family won the gene lottery. My husband has DiGeorge and we found out through our second child, I have 7q36.3. and found out through our third child. Our first child is very healthy and that is a miracle in itself because with my husband and I both having our syndromes we have a 75% chance of passing DiGeorge, 7q36.3 or both syndromes to each child we have. So why did our youngest get the fluke of having Chromosome 13 Ring?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I have been through countless hospitalizations, seizures, surgeries, daily feeding tube feedings, UTIs, a hernia from lifting up a wheel chair daily. We drive across the country with our kids because of Army duty station assignments. There is nothing like being in the ER with a child having seizures and having your husband on the front lines not knowing if he’s still alive.
