At our 20 week scan we found out that our daughter had many abnormalities. She had a heart defect called tetralogy of fallot, the vermis in her brain was missing, clubbed feet and contracted hands, micrognathia (abnormally small chin), and the list just continued on. She was soon diagnosed with Trisomy 13, a third 13th chromosome. My life felt like it was over. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Although we were asked several times to terminate, we chose to continue on with the pregnancy and pray for the best outcome possible. Unfortunately, at 31 weeks my water broke prematurely and I went into active labour. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Shortly after birth our daughter passed away. Being her mom and being pregnant with her was hands down the best thing I have ever done with my life. She will always be my baby. She was just ready for heaven sooner than my heart was. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Brighton Charlotte, I love you more than life itself. Thank you for blessing us with a healthy pregnancy. We are expecting her baby brother this December. 💙
