Jaden was born with Spina Bifida Myelomeningocele and Hydrocephalus. He went straight from the hospital and into the Foster Care system. Ryann had just signed up to be a Foster mom, and agreed to take Jaden in. When Jaden when he was 17 months old, Ryann officially adopted Jaden.
After a heart breaking year, Mercedes and Andy went on a mission trip to Haiti and served at an orphanage with special needs children. Shortly after, they decided to adopt a child with Down syndrome. 6 months later their beautiful daughter Sunflower was places in their arms.
Sasha and Gary went to a prenatal doctors appointment where an ultrasound showed enlarged ventricles in their baby’s brain, as well as holes in her heart. An amniocentesis revealed their daughter, Zoey, would be born with Trisomy 21- also known a Down syndrome. Zoey is now 7 years old, and her life has inspired Sasha and Gary to adopt a little girl from China with Down syndrome.
Jennifer and James have 10 children, four are biological and six were internationally adopted. Four of their children have special needs including Down syndrome, Autism, Reye’s syndrome, and Moyamoya disease. Jennifer and James have a truly inspiring story and so much love in their family.
Kecia and Kris have five biological children, one of which has Down syndrome. They also have two adopted children with Down syndrome.
When their third daughter was born, a few minutes after her arrival they were told she had Down syndrome. Kecia and Kris quickly learned to focus on the things she could and would do, and not the things she couldn’t. Since then, they have opened their hearts and home to two more children with Down syndrome who they have adopted from Ukraine
